Fonda Chadstone

Fonda Chadstone has been a delight for Shape Shopfitters to be involved in as it incorporated the use of many of our inhouse teams expertise and knowledge, together with the additional challenge of making the best use of restricted limited tenancy space – a challenge Shape are so well known for being able to handle successfully.

Initial works included the demolition of previous joinery, flooring, materials and fixtures in preparation for the new fit out, aimed at revitalising the space and bringing a new, fresh look and feel to the popular eatery in this busy shopping mecca.

The overall objective of the project’s design was to transform the restaurant dining area to deliver a customised, fresh and comfortable dining experience for customers, whilst maintaining operational efficiency and space optimisation.

The specially designed drop-down Victorian Ash timber panelling combined with the ‘outdoor style’ timber pergola created various and diverse seating divisions for customers as well as a selection of seating arrangements, ranging from banquette seats and banquette booths to individual tables and chairs throughout the dining area.

Enriched with scattered planter boxes for added depth and texture to the overall look also added to the seating privacy and overall patrons experience.

The design and manufacturing of the colourful proprietary louvered window shutters around the kitchen bulkhead added a distinct ‘hacienda’ feel to the venue, enhancing the Mexican atmosphere and brand image of the venue.

The strategic intention of the front bar was to deliver a functional and seamless design whilst maintaining a durable and aesthetically pleasing environment for both staff and customers. The manufacture and installation of the suspended timber shelving unit and arched wall unit to the showcased front bar provided an opportunity for our custom joinery team to demonstrate their experience and proficiency in this area.

Our architectural metalwork team produced the specialised white metal arches along the front of the site to repeat the characteristic from the timber arches above the bar and reinforce this theme throughout.

A myriad of various tiles and finishes, combined with a mixture of vibrant paintwork to the pillars and low height walls and the dotted planter boxes enhanced the overall impact of the fit out and created an ambiance consumers will thoroughly enjoy.  The completed venue is eye catching and encourages foot traffic to enter the venue.

The utilisation of cleverly placed lighting, featuring both illuminated and static fixtures intermixed with enticing signage and visual merchandising create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere appealed to the Shape Shopfitters in house signage team as they were able to work with Fonda to ensure we delivered the client’s vision. 

The Shape Shopfitters Project Team managed the fit out with a high degree of attention to detail ensuing timelines and costs were always of paramount consideration and ensured the project was completed within budget and aligned to our clients opening date.
